First Ultrasound

Posted on October 20, 2014 by wildreader

The measurements on Friday, 10/17, at 6 weeks 3 days were:
CRL 6.38 mm
HR 119.74 bpm
Yolk Sac 4.86 mm
GS 19.7 mm

The heart rate is borderline for what they like to see, but that still leaves me with an 82% chance of a successful pregnancy, so I’m trying to concentrate on that number, especially since it is so close to the 120 bpm cutoff.

After the ultrasound appointment, we went to the desk to schedule the 8 week ultrasound, and the lady asked if we were having twins, and we shook our heads “no”, and then she asked about triplets. She said from our faces, she thought it was multiples. I’m (we’re?) happy to have one. This cycle is the end of the road for us, barring some natural conception miracle. There isn’t anything else we can afford to try, so, yes, we’re over the moon for just one. And I’m white-knuckling every day hoping the embryo is healthy and keeps developing.
