Embryo Transfer, Day 3

Posted on September 13, 2013April 5, 2018 by wildreader

The embryo transfer was pretty painless. I didn’t even feel the catheters go in.The embryo quality…is not good. We had two 6 cell grade 3 embryos. The rest were 2-5 cells with very high fragmentation. The doctor transferred the three best embryos – the two 6 cell (top of photo) and one 5 cell (bottom of photo). Grade 3 indicates more than 25% fragmentation, which reduces the chance of success. He said we had a 1% chance of triplets and a 10% chance of twins. Considering both 6 cell embryos are the same grade, I’d guess the chance of having just one make it is pretty darn low, too.

I’m supposed to be on bed rest the next three days. Guess I better go lie down. (Oh, and the Valium — disappointing. I can’t even tell I took it.)
